Something just happened.
Let's backtrack to a few days ago when I ordered a textured mini peplum skirt from Asos. On sale! So cute! Look!
Fast forward to today. I excitedly opened my package, ripped open the plastic and found...
...this a-line faux leather skirt instead!
At first I was really confused, thinking I had ordered this skirt and just forgotten somehow. I mean, the skirt is clearly bitchin', so it's easy to believe I chose to buy it myself. I have been looking for a leather-ish skirt...
But upon further inspection of the package contents, it seemed they HAD shipped my peplum skirt, it's just that there wasn't actually a peplum skirt in the sealed plastic package. So labeled wrong. And according to the site, the leather skirt in my size is all old out. Suckers! They're there, they're just labeled as a peplum skirt!
So now I have to decide if I'm going to turn a blind eye and keep the a-line skirt (and possibly try to re-order the peplum skirt), or return it for the item I ordered. To be honest, I probably wouldn't have picked this skirt out for myself, but now that it's here, I'm really digging it.
Because I'm so short, I'm probably going to have to stick to wearing this with heels or pointy-toe flats. I like the way they've styled it here: just a relaxed t-shirt and heels (wouldn't do the ankle strap, though. See: short legs), but I'd also like to notch up the girlie-ness of it with some sweet pastel pieces or a cropped angora cardigan (note to self: buy cropped angora cardigan). This skirt definitely makes me want to try cropped tops this year. If I don't try it in the next three weeks, though, it's going to have to wait until fall. I really don't think I can get away with wearing a black leather-like skirt in the dead of summer in the south. People are just going to look at you like you're crazy.
So yeah! New SURPRISE skirt! Just happened!
