Retro Florals and Stripes

I found this floral number over Ebay a couple weeks ago and I've been aching to wear it out. It wants to be at an outdoor party, a luau, or a beachside cafe. On this particular day, it was a little chilly, but not enough to need a jacket, so I decided to try something different with this dress and layer it with a striped top.

Next time I wear this during cool weather, I'm going to wear a cropped jacket with rolled sleeves to show of the stripes.

I think the shoes are an important element, to keep the look low-key. I think heels would feel too forced.

Haaaaaay!
The back of this dress has a set of buttons from the top to the waist. Fun!

Dresses that nip in at the waist are always flattering for any figure. Normally I would belt dresses like this, but because of the band of fabric around the waist (and the mix of patterns) this outfit doesn't need one.

I also didn't want to overwhelm the outfit with a lot of jewelery, so I just wore a couple simple strand necklaces. I've really been getting a lot of use from my "lucky" necklace, and the green one is a new piece from Bauble Bar.

Whee!
